A Dialysis Journey

 Oh My, Oh My . . .

. . . it’s been way too long and as much as I miss getting to this blog, it seems like it just doesn’t happen as often as I would like for it to.

We finally got moved last weekend (12/2&3 ...&4) and it’s taking me a while to “realize” it!!! Mostly, things are in place nicely. It’s the small stuff ... my “artsy” stuff that did tuck in here and there over there —> but has no place here to tuck in at all!!! And then, over there I had two desk areas and here I have none. So, I’m trying to figure out how to remedy that!!

Because of moving, my city bus schedule is now different (of course) and I had to change my dialysis schedule. I used to go in about 2:30 and run until about 7p. So, now, I need to get there 12N and leave about 4:30. It does not seem as long sitting in the chair .... but, it takes “all day” because of the city bus schedule (the last bus runs at 5:15p and that’s just NO GOOD for this night soul).

Simon is my dark tabby male cat that got let out for the first time this morning ... I wanted him to be sure he knew where he lived!! So, he went out on the porch, nosed around a bit and jumped a floor down to the ground (I wasn‘t ready for that move!!!) ... then the bus came ’round and that noise startled him (actually, he’s been great with the road sounds). So, I rode around the grounds a bit and never saw him. I came back to our door and was sitting there contemplating when he came RUNNING around the corner of our building!!! At least he knows where the door is!!!

Oh, what else?
I think that is it for the time being . . .

much thanks

 I’m Sorry . . .

In the last several weeks I have written four posts that have not made it to the blog . . . I had left two of them on the screen and my buddy came along and didn’t realize that they were being saved and then the other two got “lost” between my screen and getting them posted ?????

The very first one was good ... and when things get lost it is hard to rewrite them ... the original spirit is gone and the second one just isn’t the same. So, maybe I’ll have a chance to write sometime this week. We are MOVING (yaaaahoooooooo!!!!!) this weekend which includes friends coming from distances and it will be nice to see them.

good night and
thank you

 About My Hands

. . . actually, about my fingers. They have neuropathy in them ... they feel cold all inside of them ... then the sensation seems to be hot —> I relate it to being something like dry ice ..?? I have to put them up beside my face to see if they are really warm or are actually cold. If the temperature inside the house is warm, then they feel much better. Sometimes I warm them up via the cook stove. They seem to function alright other than for typing!!! The sensation, however, does make them “hurt.”

I have been taking Neurotin (100s) for something more than a year. I started intermingling it with 300s and now it’s 300s both a.m. and p.m. The only effect is that there is a jerk from both wrists ... not bad (you won’t drop your coffee!!) but there, nonetheless.

I used to take Neurotin some years ago and I do not remember what it was for. The side effect then was that if I was turning around (for example) I would loose my step a little bit. My doc took me off of it a few years ago (before loosing the leg) and I don’t remember what was going on for either situation. Maybe (?) he put me on Neurotin when my legs were going through the neuropathy-thing.

I’ve been through so much, that years ago, now, I quit keeping a record in my mind of EVERYTHING. I do seem to remember things that I have to ... although, ALL those things are on record somewhere ... so!!!

So, how do we all feel now that the Dems rule the House & Senate? AND that we have THE FIRST LADY SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE? I SURE HOPE THESE THINGS SHOW US A DIFFERENT DIRECTION THAN I FELT WE HAVE BEEN ON FOR A WHILE NOW.

I thought I liked Bush for the first-second years ... maybe? ... through the 9-11 ... I was quite impressed. And then came Iraq!!! At that point I didn’t think I knew enough to have a definate pointofview. And even when things began to look wrong within my pointofview ... I still gave it question marks. Then, when we all KNEW that there had been NO WOMD ... he had LIED (no shit). My big disapointment was C.POWELL who I have always had a lot of faith in (truth)...AND who, when all was said and done, resigned ASAP. WHEW!!! And then there is C.RICE who I don’t know what I think about her ...???

I’ve been packing between writing this blog ... time to go pack.

any questions?
any statements?

thank you

 My New Graph . . .

. . . is in the upper part of my R arm ... so, the other day I thought to take my black long sleeve shirt and cut a hole in the sleeve where my graph is so I can wear the turtleneck and longsleeves = be a bit warmer!

Another news thought: Rumsfield is gone!!! And we’re waiting for George Allen (VA) to draw the D/R line. I KNEW Dems were gonna win it out Gonna be interesting for the next couple of years. I didn’t want the guy who is claiming victory in VA ... we’ll see!!!
