A Dialysis Journey

About the Hernia That Isn’t A Hernia

I had a CT scan and those results were that things were ok .... DAH .. so, now I have this “hot dog” shaped thing that the doc doesn’t know quite what it is!!!! He wants me to do another test . . . . so, ok!! another test it will be.

Billy’s fiance has come in for a few days ... she’s Boston Italian!!!! and what a hoot ... laughs ... entertainment (all the time!!!)

OK, it seems that we are all crashing for the rest of the afternoon .... even Simon (the cat) is all stretched out ........

good evening ya’ll

 What Ever It Is . . . ? ? ?

I’d just as soon know that it is a hernia!!!? I was told some “babble” which didn’t add up to much of anything that I could understand :)) :))

Some days it barely bothers me at all and then other days it wears me out. I can feel it ... sorta like a “tube” about 4 1/2" long right along side of my TX scar.

I certainly want it out-a-here!!

Yesterday afternoon I went out and about shopping some, came home and one thing lead to another all night long!!! :)) Finally went to bed about 4:30 this afternoon and slept for a couple of hours .... but now, I’m so beat that I can’t get anything more really done. But, I sure had a good time those 24 hours!!! I’m seeing my favorite doctor tomorrow morning before dialysis, so, we’ll see what happens.

I spent all that time cleaning up on those small things that I have no space for in this new apt!

That’s about all ... Billy’s working on a letter to his dad and resumes and I’m in the process of figuring how to send this information out so he can send resumes email . . .

Keep on keeping on . . .
As my uncle (@ 84, w/ a new recent house) said to me, “Keep on moving.” And that’s exactly what he does. That’s what my mom (his sister) mostly did. My dad, however, managed a farm (his) but did a lot of sitting. He was not what one would call a physically active person! One’s lineage shows!! I came into this world being a lot like my dad!.

OK .... good night ..... sleep tight

 WELL! It’s Not A Hernia!!!

GEEZE!!!! At this point, I would like for it to be a hernia. I got a number of words, few of which I “got” ...... I really don’t know what was said ...... something that is a result of having had a kidney transplant (which was in ’93) ... ??? It seems to be getting something bigger (but, not too bad). I don’t know. I hold it with my right hand to turn over in the bed and I wear loose pants so as not to push on that area. I will see my doctor on the 8th (Mon) and then all things will become clear!!!!

I have finally put my foot down where Billy, cigs and beer is concerned. I have a slightly broken elbow where he is concerned ... also have NO $$$ where he is concerned and I have tried for the last two months to get this accomplished. Both sides of the coin are a hard place to be a part of when someone you love is an alcoholic . . . I’ll let you know later just how well I get it accomplished ... ???

Otherwise, I think things are finally moving back on my favorite path –> the one I understand ... the one that is truly me!!!

I’m going out over the weekend and get some things “that Billy’s been drinking for a while!!!!!” I’m headed for a calendar or two, a “tube” for Simon’s name on his collar ... I’m sure I’ll find another thing or two to purchase!!! :))

Ya’ll have a good January ... I don’t know what has happened to our winter weather ... but, 70°, in December?!!, in the central part of Virginia!!!! .... MANY TIMES I am most grateful for the fact that we don’t get harsh weather in this part of the country.

My new place has a great porch which I go outside and cool off often ... it’s great!!

thank you

 Yep, into 2007

Today was the 1st of a whole new year . . . what do you think will be different next year this time?!!

Well, the first thing that I hope will be different is that B won’t be living here any more OR that he will be paying his own bills ... consisting of cigs and beer.

I feel like I get no time to breath; no time to go from one thing to another on the computer; no time to be my own quiet ... B is ALWAYS here ... I’m the one who is gone some of the time!!! He is totally happy with cigs and beer ... but, he doesn’t make any of the money for his habits. When he needed a place to be (here from FL) I didn’t think twice ... and I have watched him NOT take several jobs.

Feb 1&2 are his next court dates which will most likely lead him right to jail . . . don’t want that either.

My cousin took me to dialysis today . . . the local transit was not running . . . so, that was really nice of him!!!

I had the test for a hernia on Th the 28th ... that will most likely be next week before I hear any thing.

happy holidays

It Felt Like I Was Invited This Time

I am an only child; whereas I have cousins in the area, I seldom have felt like part of the family. For many years I didn’t do anything with them. Then, after many years, I started visiting with them some Thanksgivings, Holidays and maybe some other “celebrations.” For 5/6 years I’d go, and for a week and a half or two weeks I’d wonder why in the hell I went . . .

So, in Oct 2004 when I had my leg off, I thought “well, this is a good time just to try and separate the forces.” Did a damn good job of it, too!!!!!

Of late, two of my oldest cousins came and helped take things from my house to the Thrift Shop, came by here and talked a while and invited me to Christmas dinner at their home. I accepted without a second thought. Everything went really well. AND I had a really GOOD time.

House full of close to 40 people ... everybody talking, laughing and teasing ... this group of folks have always had a great time together.

God Bless Them Everyone
I had a great time
